  3.                            SATELLITE LOCATOR 
  4.                               for Jupiter

  6.   GALSAT is a PC MSDOS program that will predict and display the positions
  7. of the Jupiter's four largest moons, the Galilean Satellites: Io, Europa, 
  8. Ganymede, and Callisto.  The program is designed for VGA or SVGA monitors.
  9. A CGA version is also available by request.  GALSAT is the improved
  10. version of JUPIT, a program posted to sci.astro newsgroup last year.
  11.                    
  12.   One can determine when one of the moons cast a shadow on Jupiter
  13. or when a moon is eclipsed by Jupiter with reasonable accuracy using the
  14. program.  The program displays the positions from two perspectives:
  15. from above Jupiter and as they appear though Earth-based telescopes.
  16. Also a one week prediction chart is shown.  On-line help is available
  17. as well as references.  Thanks to all who made suggestions or comments.
  18. I've tried to implement your ideas in this latest version.

  20.   This program may be useful in predicting the locations of of Jupiter's
  21. moons during the impact of comet Shoemaker-Levy next year.  The comet
  22. impact is said to take place on the far side of Jupiter so that the light
  23. from the fireballs produced may only be seen by reflections for Jupiter's
